1. Ueno Onshi Park

Category : Park
When you ask Japanese people about Ueno, may be almost of Japanese people will think about the statue of Takamori SaiGo, one of the most influential samurai in Japanese history, that located at this Ueno Park.
In fact, Ueno Park's official name is Ueno Onshi Park that was established through an imperial land grant to the city of Tokyo by Emperor Taisho in 1924.
In Ueno Park, you could found many facilities, such as, zoo, museum and etc., that make this area always crowded with both Japanese and foreigners.

2. Ueno Tojogu

Category : Shrine
Ueno Tojogu is the shrine locating in the Ueno Park area that was built to make a worship to Ieyasu Tokugawa in 1627.
The present shrine was reconstructed by Iemitsu, the third Tokugawa shogun.
There are also many important cultural properties in the shrine area that could make you know more about Japan History.

3. Shitamachi Fuzoku Museum

Category : Museum
Shitamachi Fuzoku Museum, is the museum that display Edo period's way of living and its atmosphere, locating near Shinobazu pond in Ueno park.
At the 1st floor, there are the reappearance of Edo's atmosphere, such as, house, its furnitures and other household goods that you could go into and experience its atmosphere also.
You could see many documents about Edo's period at the 2nd floor too.

4. Suzumoto Entertainment Hall

Category : Entertainment Hall
The historical entertainment hall that was run since 1857.
You could enjoy with Japanese traditional performance, such as, traditional comic storytelling and comic dialogue, more than 3 hours with the fees of 2,800 yen.
If you are interesting in Japanese traditional performance, this is our recommended place that you should visit when you come to Ueno!

5. Ameyoko Shopping Arcade

The famous shopping arcade in Ueno area for both Japanese and foreigners.

6. Mihashi Ueno Main Branch

Category : Japanese traditional sweets shop
Mihashi is the very famous Japanese sweets shop for anmitsu, the sweets that contains with bean jam, agar, and pieces of fruit served in syrup.
Its delicious secret is the strict selection of each ingredients.

Anyway, not only many variety of anmitsu, there are also the other Japanese sweets you could choice, such as, oshiruko and etc.

8. Higashi Ueno Korean Town

Category : Shopping Arcade
This Higashi Ueno Korean Town was known as the oldest Korean town in Tokyo.

There are many kind of Korean's shops, such as, Korean barbecue, ethnic costume and etc..
You also could enjoy and find many variety of kimchi and Korean foods here and that is why they also called this shopping arcade as "Kimchi yokocho".
As almost of the shop in this shopping arcade are lined along the alley, you could take a walk, looking around there and take a meal at Korean restaurant that will make you feel like you are in Korea!
